Boston Bruins General Manager, Don Sweeney told the media today that the team signed two young defender to one-year, 2-year contracts.

The who cares sign Swayman folks are hilarious in the comments of the official announcement of the #NHLBruins signing defensemen Callahan & Regula.
Take the NHL blinders off and please understand the minor-pro system is important as well.


The newest members of the Bruins are Michael Callahan and Alec Regula who both are on identical deal of $775,000.

24-year-old, Michael Callahan has played the last 3 season with the Providence. Last season he scored 4 goals and 13 assists for 17 points. the 6'2 Blueliner was taken by the Arizona Coyotes in the fifth round, 142nd overall in the 2018 NHL Draft.

23-year-old, Alec Regula played just one season for the Providence Bruins but has also seen some NHL playing time for the Chicago Blackhawks. Last season, the 6'4 defenceman scored 4 goals and 22 assists for 26 points but bolstered a +/- of +36. Regula was drafted 67th overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings.

They Both will be trying to make the big club out of camp but will most probably start the season in the AHL with Providence.
