Stanley Cup champion set to join the Boston Bruins

The regular season is just around the corner and the Reigning Stanley Cup Champs could be considering trading veteran Defenseman, Aaron Ekblad, and its rumored he could be interested in joining the Boston Bruins.

Ekblad carries a $7.5 million dollar cap hit going into his final year, and if he doesn;t plan on returning (which he probably is) he will be expecting more than what his current salary is paying him, the team may have to look to clear cap space and he could be one of the first choices.

Ekblad suffered an injury that forced him to miss time in the 2023-2024 season which he has been prone to in the past. He still managed to appeaser in 51 games, scoring 4 goals and 14 assists for 18 points. Considering being touted as an offensive D-man, he has turned into a top tier stay at home defensemen. Ekblad has a +/- +27.
