General manager Don Sweeney has announced today that the Boston Bruins have signed former Chicago Blackhawks forward and 2-time Stanley Cup champion Tyler Johnson to a professional tryout (PTO).

34-year-old Johnson played in 67 games last season for the Blackhawks where he scored 17 goals and 14 assists for 31 points and a +/- of -35.

The 2-time Stanley cup winner with the Tampa Bay Lighting stands at 5foot-8 and 185 pounds and has played in 738 career NHL games. He has tallied 193 goals and 238 assists for 431 points with a +/- rating of -20 rating.
