Tyler Betruzzi reveals his reasons on why he decided to sign with the Blackhawks over re-signing the Boston Bruins.
The minute it was announced that the Toronto Male Leafs were going to re-sign Max Domi, he knew his time was up with the team.
When July 1st, Free Agency commenced, Tyler Bertuzzi immediately signed with the Chicago Blackhawks revealing some controversy behind his reasons. Ex-Bruin, Nick Foligno reached out to him before the allotted time of negotiations, indicating there could have been a moral grey area of tampering.
Tyler Bertuzzi said "Chicago wasn't really on my radar" going into NHL free agency, but Nick Foligno called him to tell him the Blackhawks were interested in him and things developed from there. #Blackhawks
GM of Chicago, Kyle Davidson and Tyler Bertuzzi then agreed on a 4-year contract worth $5.5 million AAV. Patrick Maroon also decided to join Blackhawks.
