Since the acquisition of the hard hitting defenceman from the Calgary Flames, Zadorov has been a prominent force for the Canucks on the blue line. Patrick Allvin, general manager of the Canucks has made it clear that inking Zadorov to a contract remains a top priority of the team, but nothing concrete has been achieved. The latest reports circulating in the trade rumour mill confirms that the Canucks have offered Zadorov a 4.5 million dollar contract at an approximate 4-5 year term, but was ultimately rejected by Zadorov.
This may signify that "Big Z" is looking for a huge pay increase elsewhere, and will likely be exploring other options if general manager Patrick Allvin doesn't find a way to sweeten the deal. Zadorov as expressed his interest in a long-term 7-8 deal, but navigating through the tight Vancouver Canuck's salary cap will prove to be difficult to solidify contract negotiations.
