The worst possible scenario has been released for Connor McDavid as its reported that he played through a serous injury that will require surgery.
"McDavid has played through an abdominal injury that likely requires surgery."
Despite his injury, McDavid was dominant, breaking the Stanley Cup Playoff record for assists (34).
A performance for the ages. 👏
With an incredible 42 points in 25 #StanleyCup Playoffs games, Connor McDavid is your Conn Smythe Trophy winner.
It was also released that Leon Draisaitl was severely banged up as well, which makes a lot of sense as he did not look like himself in the Finals.
"The war of attrition took its toll on the Oilers. Head coach Kris Knoblauch didn't divulge any information Monday night after the loss, but both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have been playing through significant injuries, Oilers Nation has learned. McDavid has played through an abdominal injury that likely requires surgery, while Draisaitl has been banged up too, I've been told. He's believed to be dealing with a broken rib and finger. It's nothing new for a laundry list of players to be dealing with injuries after deep playoff runs, and surely we'll hear of more in the coming days." - Oilers Nation
McDavid has been getting some heat online saying he didn't step up in the game that mattered the most but you cant be dominant every night, especially when you have a serious injury you are playing through.
