Confirmed: Gretzky to be named Edmonton Oilers general manager

Wayne Gretzky's younger brother Keith is making headlines for all the wrong reason, as fans believe he is not the best candidate to be the GM for the Edmonton Oilers.
Back in 2016, Keith Gretzky was hired as the Oilers assistant general manager, and now that Ken Holland is no longer the GM, many candidates have been mentioned as suitable replacements, one of them is Keith Gretzky.
Wednesday, Jim Matheson made a statement stating that Keith Gretzky is the best candidate to become the team's general manager.
«Again, I think Keith Gretzky can be Oilers' GM going forward. He's very smart, he's put the work in, he runs the farm team. There's such thing as rewarding and trusting people from within an organization with an advancement. Carolina did it with Eric Tulsky.»
But fans are not as convinced, lashing out and calling Keith Gretzky a "nepo baby", saying he doesn't have the accolades or what it takes to thrive in that position.
