The Coumbus Blue Jackets and Montreal Canadiens have a greed to a blockbuster trade that no one saw coming.
The Blue Jackets have traded 40+ goal scorer, Patrik Laine and a 2026 2nd-round pick to the Montreal Canadiens for defenseman Jordan HarrisJordan Harris.
When Laine asked for a trade, Blue Jackets Gm Don Waddell did everything in his power to comply and today he feels he made a good transaction that will benefit the organization in the long run.
"We want players that want to be Blue Jackets and Patrik made it clear that he thought a change of scenery was best for him," said Waddell in a statement. "We were able to acquire a good young player in Jordan Harris while maintaining financial flexibility in this deal which was very important to us. We wish Patrik all the best.»
