When news broke that Steven Stamkos was disappointed by the Tampa Bay Lightning's GM Julien BriseBois for not reaching out during the summer, it certainly made waves. Stamkos, who is nearing unrestricted free agency, hadn't received any communication from the team regarding a contract extension, despite his years of dedication and achievements.

As it turns out, BriseBois and the Lightning are taking a cautious approach, leaving Stamkos frustrated and feeling undervalued.

If, and it's a big "if," Stamkos decides to part ways with Tampa Bay, there's one team that stands out:

The Boston Bruins, in need of center depth, could potentially land the 34-year-old Stamkos next season, causing ripples across the league. His arrival in Boston would address the Bruins' longstanding need for a top center. With an estimated $28 million in cap space for the upcoming summer, Boston has the financial flexibility to make this move.
