The recent change in the Toronto Maple Leafs' General Manager position has raised questions about the future of Head Coach Sheldon Keefe.

However, indications suggest that Keefe is likely to remain in his current role for the time being.

According to reports, the coaches interviewed by Brendan Shanahan, the team's president, did not oppose retaining Keefe, and it seems that Shanahan shares the same sentiment. Brad Treliving, who is also involved in the decision-making process, appears to be supportive of keeping Keefe as well.

NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman shared on Toronto sports radio that Treliving expressed his willingness to consider retaining Keefe.

Friedman further stated that Treliving's presence in Toronto does not necessarily mean Keefe will be replaced. In fact, there is a decent chance that Keefe will continue as the coach.

Despite some disappointing playoff performances, which have often led to dissatisfaction from Leafs management, Keefe has had a successful four-season tenure with an impressive regular season record of 166-71-30, equating to a .678 winning percentage.

However, it should be noted that Keefe's current contract expires at the end of the upcoming season, implying that his stay might only be temporary at this point.
