Commissioner of the NHL, Gary Bettman, says Corey Perry plans on filing an official grievance against his former team, the Chicago Blackhawks. According to Bettman, Perry claims the Blackhawks did not have grounds to terminate his contract back in November of 2023.
The original 60 day deadline for the NHLPA to file a grievance against the Blackhawks was extended past it's original date at the end of January, but as of now, nothing has officially been filed. Whether or not the grievance will move past the pending stage before a settlement can be reached is yet to be seen.
Perry, 38, recently signed a 1 year deal with the Edmonton Oilers but it appears his business with the Blackhawks isn't quite done yet.
