The images above display everything we've encountered regarding the 2024 All-Star Jerseys, and their design strikingly resembles that of the costumes from the original Power Rangers. Recently, the Florida Panthers featured two of these jerseys on their website, specifically for Bobrovsky and Sam Reinhart, revealing the font style for the names and their positioning. If this is truly the final design, the only fitting description for it is 'ridiculous'.
The final straw for this eyesore is its staggering price of $290 USD. It's baffling why anyone would choose to buy these. The font resembles something you'd expect from a Lego hockey team, not the NHL. It has a very Disney/McDonald's vibe, which might work for them but seems completely misplaced here.
Meanwhile, the NHL is introducing a revamped Skills Competition at the 2024 All-Star Weekend, promising changes based on fan feedback who desire to see genuine skills on display. Regrettably, they didn't preview these jerseys for fan opinions before finalizing them. If the font and placement shown on the Panthers' website are more than just temporary stand-ins for an unrevealed design, then this represents a significant misstep.
