The Boston Bruins had practice this morning and their star captain Brad Marchand was missing from the practice. Per Bruins insider Joe Haggerty, Brad Marchand may be giving rest by the team as he is now 35 years old and the playoffs are nearing.

"Brad Marchand not on the ice for this morning's Bruins practice at Warrior. We've seen that a few times recently where the rest will probably benefit a 35-year-olds legs late in the season ahead of the playoffs."

Rest has been a topic of discussion for the Boston Bruins since they have clinched a playoff spot. However, Brad Marchand himself has made clear, that the players should be playing, at least all games. With 5 games remaining, the Bruins have a lead of 4 points over the Panthers and are currently one point behind the New York Rangers for the number one seed, so you can make a case that the team should play until all seedings are clinched. Now, we will see if this rest is just for practice or will Marchand sit some regular seasons games as well. However, you cannot fault Bruins' head coach Jim Montgomery if he wants to rest payers especially the older players, so they are healthy come the 1st playoff game. As we know, the Bruins were the number 1 seed last year and still had a 1st round exit.
