After the San Jose Sharks season ended, they fired their head coach David Quinn on April 24th and now they are looking for a new head coach. The Sharks General manager Mike Grier is looking for a head coach who can help develop their young players as the Sharks will have the first overall pick in this year's draft.

Per, Pierre LeBrun, the Sharks have sought and received permission from the Kings to speak with former Bruin Marco Sturm for their head coaching position.

The Sharks are clearly going to select Macklin Celebrini with the number 1 overall pick and Sturm may be joining him in San Jose. Sturm's coaching career includes coaching the German national team in 2015, and also in 2018 as Sturm lead the Germans to the gold medal game at the Winter Olympics.
