Hurricanes announce massive news regarding Eric Staal

The Hurricanes re-signed longtime captain Eric Staal to a 1 day contract so that he can retire in Carolina.
The team announced that Staal would retire a Hurricane but also mentioned that they will be retiring his #12 this season as well.

Staal helped lead the Hurricanes to their first Stanley Cup in franchise history in 2006 and had his best years in the NHL with the Hurricanes, including a 103 point season.
