The Boston Bruins have already clinched a playoff position and the playoffs are nearing. Many have wondered if there will be a goalie rotation or if there will be one starter for the playoffs. The Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery hinted at and seemed comfortable with a goalie rotation for the playoffs.

If we look at the last two regular seasons, the Bruins employed a goalie rotation, and they have a chance at winning the president's trophy in back-to-back seasons. Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman have combined for a 92 percent save percentage. However, last year in the playoffs Ullmark started the first six games of the 1st round. Swayman started Game 7, after the Bruins lost Game 5, 4-3 and Game 6, 7-5. Many at the time question this decision to use one starter but in Montgomery's defense, Ullmark went on to win the Vezina trophy last year. After the elimination, many to this day question, that decision last year and believe the Bruins would have won, if a goalie rotation was utilized. This year, it looks like we will see a goalie rotation in the 2024 playoffs.
