Referee has skull and jaw fractured after violent attack by Quebec hockey player

A referee in Quebec volunteering for the North American Ball Hockey Players Association was violently attacked by one of the players in a game.
The incident happened in a ball hockey game in Quebec where a player decided to viciously attack the referee and ended up fracturing his skull and jaw.
The official statement was released from the NBHPA and it stated that the player attacked the referee with his stick, hitting him once in the cheat and then another time in his face where he would end up fracturing the refs skull and jaw.
The referee will have to go through extensive therapy and facial reconstructive surgery in order to fully recover from the attack.
A Canadian ball hockey player is facing charges in the alleged attack of a referee who suffered a fractured skull and other serious injuries requiring surgery.
The attacker was a 31-year-old male who has been arrested and charged and will also receive a lifetime ban from the league.
