Once again, forward Evgeny Kuznetsov has reiterated his desire for a trade, renewing his request to be moved to a new team.
In an article by Mike Vogel on NHL.com, it is highlighted that the Capitals are fully aware of Kuznetsov's trade request and are taking it into consideration as they plan for the offseason.
Kuznetsov's offensive production last season fell short of expectations, tallying 12 goals and 55 points in 81 games, which didn't quite justify his hefty $7.8 million salary cap hit.
With two years remaining on his contract, a strong offensive resurgence from Kuznetsov could potentially attract valuable trade offers early in the upcoming season.
During the draft, the Capitals made attempts to facilitate trades involving Kuznetsov but were unable to finalize any deals.
