Trade talks surrounding Dubois have gained momentum after he and his agent expressed the need for a fresh start away from the Winnipeg Jets. However, the Bruins' inability to meet the Jets' trade demands, including a first-round pick and a top prospect, makes acquiring Dubois unrealistic.
General Manager Don Sweeney must now shift focus towards alternative options in the trade market to prepare for the eventual retirements of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci. Significant moves by Sweeney in the near future are unlikely.
