According to a report by Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Seattle Kraken are planning to shake things up in their goaltending department this summer.

General Manager Ron Francis is actively looking to trade 29-year-old goalie Chris Driedger, who has one year remaining on his contract with a $3.5 million cap hit. However, potential trade negotiations might be complicated by Driedger's modified no-trade clause, which allows him to specify ten teams he prefers not to be traded to.

Driedger was chosen by the Kraken in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft from the Florida Panthers.

During Seattle's inaugural season, he played 29 games, registering a 9-14-1 record, a 2.96 GAA, .899 save percentage, and one shutout. Driedger faced a setback when he tore his ACL in the Gold Medal Game of the 2022 IIHF World Hockey Championship, causing him to miss a significant portion of the most recent season.

He made his return in February, playing 14 games for the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds.
