With all these players no longer under contract, Sweeney will have a lot of available cap space to find some serious talent for next season.
One star player that could be a great addition is Sam Reinhart that just had a 57 goal season with the Panthers. His contract is coming to an end and will be looking for a 5-6 year contract $8 million AAV.
Johnathan Marchessault just had a 42 goal season with the Golden Knights, he will be 34 years old next season but a contract around 3 years would make sense.
Another option is Tyler Bertuzzi who is a hard-nosed type of player and was a big part of the lineup last season after being acquired by the Bruins. Bertuzzi is great on both sides of the puck as he can play well in his own zone as well as score in the offensive zone.
The biggest trade of this year's deadline, Jake Guentzel, will also be a free agent this summer and has been one of the most consistent scorers in the NHL over the last few years. The 30 year-old would be a great addition to any team he signs with.
Finally, Anthony Duclair is another forward that can be a great signing. Duclair has bounced around the NHL quite a bit in his career but has proven that he can be an elite player when he is in the right situations.
