Although David Krejci has been absent from the Bruins' last six games due to a lower-body injury, head coach Jim Montgomery provided a significant update on the veteran's participation in the first game of the playoffs. Conor Ryan from Boston.com reported Montgomery's statement:
At 36, Krejci has had an impressive season after spending a year in his home country, Czechia. In 70 games, the center accumulated 16 goals, 40 assists, and a +23 rating, with an average of 17:12 time on ice per game.
Krejci's return to the lineup is crucial for the Bruins as he has consistently delivered exceptional performances for Boston. Specifically, he played a significant role in the last three instances when Boston reached the Stanley Cup Final:
(Rank among Bruins players)
2019: 4 goals and 12 assists in 24 games (6th)
2013: 9 goals and 17 assists in 22 games (1st)
2011: 12 goals and 11 assists in 25 games (1st)
Krejci's presence in the lineup for game one could be a game-changer for Montgomery's team. However, his health remains the top priority.
