Linus Ullmark was the expected starter going into this season, and he has done nothing to give up that status. The 30 year old from Sweden has played brilliantly for the Bruins, with a 10-4-2 record, 2.86 goals against average and a .912 save percentage. This alone would warrant All-Star voting. The numbers might not pop off the page, but Ullmark makes several timely saves in high pressure situations for the Bruins. He is also the type of goalie that makes difficult saves look routine.
Jeremy Swayman is the reason that you can even make the debate the Bruins have two quality starting goalies. As good as Ullmark has been, Swayman has been right there, and his numbers have looked even better. The 25-year-old from Alaska (Que the Mystery Alaska Movie Nostalgia!) has a 9-1-4 record, a 2.06 Goals Against Average (3rd in the League), and a .934 save percentage which is tied for best in the league with Vegas Goalie Adin Hill.
The question for the Bruins, is do they continue to ride both goalies? Or Stick with one over the other? Its hard to ride the hot hand, when both goalies are playing so well. Just another good problem for the Bruins to have, as you can never have too much great goaltending!
