The initial NHL All-Star Team was announced on Thursday. This is where NHL Hockey Operations picks one player from each team to make the All-Star Team. David Pastrnak, not surprisingly, was the player picked for the Boston Bruins. The next eight players and four goalies are selected by fan vote.

Pastrnak is off to a terrific start the first half of this season. He has 23 goals and 30 assists for 53 points which is good for 3rd in the league in points. He is also a plus 10 rating on the year.

Pastrnak has been constantly great this year for the Bruins and got the recognition he deserves by being on the first list of All Stars.

One would assume that the Bruins, given their record and talent, may have a few more players going to the All-Star Game. Both Goalies are more than deserving with Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark being great all year. Brad Marchand has been consistently solid all year as well.

The NHL All-Star Weekend will take place on February 1-3, in Toronto.
