The Boston Bruins have restructured their roster by moving forward Jesper Boqvist and defenseman Ian Mitchell to their AHL partner, the Providence Bruins. Boqvist's return to the AHL came after a short stint with the team on December 12th, during which he contributed to their win against the New York Islanders.

Mitchell's circumstances differ as he mainly serves as an extra defenseman for Boston, making few appearances in the AHL this season. Boqvist, an experienced NHL player with nearly 200 games played, will resume his influential position in Providence, where he has accumulated 14 points across 25 games.

Through these moves, the Bruins have created availability for two positions on their roster. However, any potential financial gains from this are lessened due to the designations of Derek Forbort and Milan Lucic for long-term injured reserve. The AHL's Bruins, who currently boast a 13-9-4 record, are scheduled to play at 4 p.m. today.
