Enter Jake DeBrusk, the player whose glove made unintentional contact with the puck just before Patrice Bergeron's play on it.
This led to what the Bruins initially believed to be a 3-2 lead in the second period. However, Panthers' head coach Paul Maurice requested a review for a "missed stoppage in play."
DeBrusk commented on the incident after the game, asserting that the hand pass was unintentional. He explained that it would have been apparent if he meant to do it:
