In an unexpected twist, Jim Montgomery, the Boston Bruins' head coach, issued a surprising announcement shortly before the team's match against the Rangers.

The pregame information disclosed significant alterations to the lineup, welcoming back Matt Poitras and Patrick Brown, who reentered the roster. Conversely, Jakub Lauko and Jesper Boqvist were omitted from the upcoming game's lineup.

The surprising update is that Montgomery believes Zacha and McAvoy will return to play next (Tuesday). This appears to be good news.

As for Montgomery's pregame updates:

Poitras and Brown draw back into the lineup. Lauko and Boqvist are out.

Montgomery is also hopeful that Zacha and McAvoy will return to the lineup on Tuesday.

The match at TD Garden will begin at 7 p.m. ET, and you can catch full coverage of the game on NESN, starting with pregame analysis at 6 p.m.
