Swayman Starting
Montgomery has decided for Jeremy Swayman to be between the pipes as it looks like the starting goalies will continue to be a game-by-game decision. This makes sense as both Swayman and Linus Ullmark have been tremendous this season and Montgomery may want to keep them both with game action, while not overusing one or the other. Swayman is in the top three of the league in save percentage at .928 and Ullmark is also in the top half of league at .914. Interestingly, the Bruins have the same number of standings points with each goalie. Swayman is 9-2-4 for 22 points and Ullmark is 10-5-2 for 22 points.
Shattenkirk in for Ian Mitchell
Mitchell was an emergency call up as Shattenkirk sat out the last game against the Wild. Mitchell was a +1 rating in 10:50 minutes of ice time. Shattenkirk brings a veteran presence back to a defensive group that has had their share of defensive collapses lately. Shattenkirk has had a bit of a down year, with just two goals and six assists with an average of 16:33 of ice time per game.
Patrick Brown in for Oskar Steen
It appears Montgomery is leaning a bit on his veterans as Steen, a 25 years old Center, will take the bench in favor of Patrick Brown (31-year-old). Steen has one goal on the year playing on the 4th line. Patrick Brown also only has one point on the year, usually playing 4th line minutes.
Puck drop is at 7:30pm tonight in Buffalo.
