In the midst of MVP-caliber seasons from Ullmark and Pastrnak, Jim Montgomery recently expressed significant admiration for a Bruins' depth player.
Tomas Nosek, despite being a fourth liner player, often gets the least recognition on the Boston, and that aligns with what Montgomery appreciates about his game.
Montgomery revealed to the press that Nosek discreetly excels at embodying the team's desired playing style.
Regarding Nosek, Montgomery said:
''His habits and details with how we wanna play, how we wanna get pucks out, how we wanna get pucks in. Doesn't matter if I play him at left wing or right wing. He runs the right routes. He gets the pucks faster than most players because he knows what we're supposed to be doing within how the Bruins play.''
As Montgomery emphasizes, Nosek takes care of the small yet crucial aspects of the game, which are essential for winning playoff matches. He excels at faceoffs and is a highly trusted penalty killer for the Bruins.
At 30 years old, Nosek has scored three points in his last four games and now has a total of 6 goals and 10 assists through 60 games, solely as part of the fourth line.
