With the Panthers coming to Boston on Monday, Montgomery will have a full and healthy roster at his disposal, as observed during practice at the Warrior Ice Arena practice.
However, this also means that he must decide which deserving players will be left out of the lineup - a choice I'm glad I don't have to make.
A.J. Greer, Jakub Lauko, and Jakub Zboril seem to be the more apparent choices to sit out (despite having solid seasons). The real challenge lies in choosing among regulars such as Connor Clifton, Matthew Grzelcyk, Derek Forbort, Trent Frederic, Nick Foligno, and Tomas Nosek.
Conor Ryan from Boston.com shared the morning line rushes from the practice, providing a glimpse of the potential lineup for game one:
Based on Saturday's practice lines, it appears that Grzelcyk and Zboril will be the defensemen left out. The forward selection is a bit more complicated, but considering Foligno's injury since late February, he could start the postseason in the press box.
Another crucial decision for Montgomery is determining the lineup positions. The Bruins haven't been at full strength since the Trade Deadline, so it will be fascinating to see what strategy he devises!
