Nick Foligno has made a remarkable comeback, proving to be invaluable for the Bruins both on and off the ice after struggling in his first season with the team.

Missing the Veteran's Presence

During the Bruins' recent Western Canadian road trip, Foligno was injured against the Flames. Since then, the 35-year-old has been on the injured reserve and is not expected to return until the playoffs.

Zach Beauchaine from Black N' Gold Hockey recently wrote about how the team misses Foligno in the locker room:

"An NHL player's on-ice skills are not the only important factors when aiming for a championship. Foligno's injury is a setback for Boston as the regular season nears its end. It has noticeably disrupted the team's chemistry in recent games. The team misses his presence and needs his voice back in their dressing room. There is no specific timeline for his return from injury at this point."

This was evident when Foligno's speech inspired the Bruins to come back from a 1-0 deficit and secure a thrilling 2-1 victory at the Winter Classic at Fenway Park. Watch the video below:

Foligno's presence during the playoffs could be crucial for the Bruins. Although he has not experienced significant postseason success himself, "Uncle Nick" serves as the glue that holds the team together.

While Foligno is far from his career-high 73 points (2014-15), he has already doubled his point total from his first season in Boston. In 60 games this season, he has recorded 10 goals and 16 assists.
