Nineteen-year-old Poitras played 63 games for the Guelph Storm in the OHL this season, tying for fifth in OHL scoring with 16 goals and 79 assists. Hailing from Brooklin, Ontario, he was chosen by Boston in the second round (54th overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft as their first pick.
With only two games left in the regular season, the Providence Bruins currently rank second in the AHL Eastern Conference and fourth across the league, boasting a 42-17-10 record.
