Monday afternoon's waiver wire is anticipated to include a former first-round draft pick, as revealed by Jeremy Rutherford from The Athletic.

In a social media update on Monday, Rutherford conveyed that the Blues are intending to place Jakub Vrana on waivers later today.

"As per a source, Jakub Vrana is set to be placed on waivers by the Blues."

Hailing from Prague, Vrana was the 13th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by Washington. He has amassed 365 games across eight seasons in the league, representing the Capitals, Red Wings, and Blues, tallying 209 points. Notably, he secured a Stanley Cup ring during his time with the Capitals in 2018.

Throughout 19 games played for St. Louis this season, the 27-year-old player has accumulated six points (two goals, four assists), received eight penalty minutes, and holds a minus-five rating.
