On consecutive days, there has been movement on the waiver wire, as the Boston Bruins seek to reassign a defenseman to the minors.

Reportedly by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Bruins have waived 24-year-old defenseman Ian Mitchell with the intention of assigning him to AHL Providence.

"Mitchell (BOS) on waivers. Both from yesterday cleared" Friedman said.

Mitchell, hailing from St. Albert, Alberta, has participated in 13 matches for the Boston Bruins this season, tallying two assists, accumulating ten penalty minutes, and boasting a plus-six rating. Additionally, he has played four games with AHL Providence, contributing with one assist.

In related updates, Buffalo Sabres forward Tyson Jost and Detroit Red Wings goaltender Michael Hutchinson have successfully passed through waivers and are set to join their team's American Hockey League affiliates.
