David Pastrnak enjoyed interacting with fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2024 NHL All-Star Skills Competition. As he made his entrance on Friday night at Scotiabank Place, a chorus of boos greeted him.
Undeterred, he glided to the lineup of players with a smile and affectionately kissed the Spoked B emblem on his black Bruins jersey, celebrating the team's centenary.
Regrettably, the Bruins' standout winger didn't achieve much success in the NHL All-Star Skills competition, failing to advance to the final rounds for a chance at the $1 million prize. Nonetheless, fans of the Boston Bruins should take pride in his participation and his spirited engagement with the supporters of their historic Original 6 and Atlantic Division adversaries.
Pastrnak is set to compete for Team McDavid in the NHL All-Star Game come Saturday. The 27-year-old winger concluded the first half of the season ranked third in the NHL for points (72) and goals (33), and placed tenth for assists (39). As a 2023 Hart Trophy Finalist, Pastrnak outpaces McDavid in points (67) and goals (20), although he trails the current Hart Trophy holder by eight assists, with McDavid recording 47 assists.
