Patrice Bergeron will always have a place in Bruins fans hearts as he had an amazing 19 year career with the team.
During the season, there was some speculation that Bergeron might make a comeback to the NHL since he clearly can still play as he put up 27 goals and 58 points last season.
It seems as though Bergeron has truly no intention of returning. He has stated that he gave everything he can to the game of hockey and is enjoying his new life of full-time dad.
«I've moved on,» Bergeron told The Athletic. «I've given everything I had to the game. I have no regrets. I'm only thankful for everything I've been able to experience, the people I've met. At this point, it's almost like I've closed the lid on it, I guess. I'm OK with it. I wish in a way I could play forever. I know it's impossible. I have to think about my future. I don't think my body would be happy with me going back.»
Bruins fans will have to just be thankful of the time they did have with the Bruins legend and wish him the best of luck with his new life.
