Boston Bruins could be trading Linus Ullmark very soon
Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeny is rumoured to soon be pulling the trigger on a blockbuster trade involving Linus Ullmark.
After a devastating second round exit to the Florida Panthers during the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs, the focus for the Bruins has been cleaning house and rebuilding their team. Sources have now confirmed that the Boston Bruins may finally be ready to move their Vezina winning goaltender, Linus Ullmark.
Ullmark ultimately lost the starting position to a hot Jeremy Swayman who was a huge catalyst during the B's playoff run. Ullmark, who has left in the shadows, is now on the hunt for a new place to call home and awaiting a new opportunity to be a starter elsewhere.
The latest rumour states that the New Jersey Devils could be very interested in acquiring Linus Ullmark in return for their 10th overall pick in the 2024 NHL draft.
"Does the No. 10 pick get you that type of player that you can add to the group? It's easy to say, �Go get so-and-so and then you build from there.' But there are some guys who have different contracts so how are those players going to reprice at. There's a lot to it, but, yes, the focus is on finding that goaltender," general manager Tom Fitzgerald said during an interview.
This could potentially be a blockbuster trade that sends shockwaves through the league. It could very well be a wise choice for Don Sweeny which could save him over 5 million dollars per year in salary cap space. Could we see the Likes of Linus Ullmark being traded in the coming week?
