The Boston Bruins and GM Don Sweeney announced a big signing today, but there is a lot more to the story as Jeremy Swayman's contract still hangs in the balance.

The Bruins have signed RFA, Marc McLaughlin to a 1-year, 2-way contract worth $775,000 AAV.

The Billerica kid stays a Bruin after recording 14 points in 68 games with Providence last season.


The 24-year old, 6'0 center played in 68 games for the Providence Bruins of the AHL last season and scored just 8 goals and 8 assists for a measly total of 14 points.

The #NHLBruins have signed Marc McLaughlin to a one-year, two-way extension with a cap hit of $775,000.


With the signing of McLaughlin, there only leaves one more RFA left to be signed... and it is by far the Boston Bruins most important one, Jermey Swayman. We are closing in on 60 days of Swayman not getting a contract extension and as the days go by, the more uncomfortable it gets for us Bruins fans.
