Boston Bruins to place Korpisalo on waivers if Bussi outperforms him in camp

A recent report indicated that the Boston Bruins could place Joonas Korpisalo on waivers depending on how well young Goalie, Brandon Bussi performs in camp.
Actually don't think Boston would hesitate to waive Korpisalo if Bussi out performs him in camp, IMO. Obviously they have confidence in Korpisalo (whether they wanted him or Ottawa volun-told them to take him), but Bussi is cheaper, younger and has far less baggage.
There has been a lot of talk about the abilities of the 26-year-old and how well he is developing. He appered in 41 games for the Providence Bruins of the AHL and showcased tha the has what it takes to earn a shot as a back up in the NHL.
He recorded one shutout in 2023, had a save percentage .922 with a GAA (goals against average of 2.67. These are numbers the Bruins are looking for out of a goalie who is pushing for his shot, if he plays at this caliber in camp, Joonas Korpisalo could be placed on waivers as Bussi is younger and has a much cheaper contract.
If it goes the other way and Korpisalo outplays Bussi, nothing changes, as he will just continue to play in the AHL and earn his shot from there.
