With the lack of developments surrounding the issues with Jeremy Swayman's contract with the Boston Bruins, captain Brad Marchand has finally broke his silence to comment on how he feels about the situation.
At a golf tournament yesterday hosted by the Boston Bruins in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Marchand spoke to reporters who would not stop asking about the issues surrounding Jeremy Swayman. The good news is that he sounded quite confident that a deal will get done and he is excited to have this all in the past.
«It's a big topic of conversation with the fans and the media, and this is part of the business, and we all are really looking forward to when it does get done and the process is over and he is back with the group,» said Marchand. "But that's obviously out of our hands and we don't get involved in any of that. So it'll be great when everything gets kind of squared away.»
It is coming to a point that these contract negotiations are causing drama and could be a major distraction for the team. If Swayman doesn't sign and decides to sit out, Marchand and other players will be flooded daily with questions about updates and could cause some issues for the team moving forward.
