NHL Player Safety announced today that Bruins goalie Linus Ullmark would be fined for swinging his stick at the head Tampa Bay Lightning forward Michael Eyssimont. The incident occurred after Eyssimont ran into Ullmark in the crease and made some heavy contact with his shoulder and elbwow to the goalie's head.

Ullmark will be fined $5,000 for high-sticking after his retaliatory shot on Eyssimont before the two players were separated by teammates.

Hockey is a physical game that often has intense emotional moments, so Ullmark's anger during the play is understandable, however, good sportsmanship and player safety must remain priorities for league officials and players alike.
