The Boston Bruins pre-season debut did not go to plan as they lost a close game 3-2 against the New York Rangers on Sunday. They will be returning to the ice tonight Vs the Capitals, which they will be hoping for a much better result.
The Bruins announced their lineup for this evening and it will give plenty of things for fans to look forward too, specifically their new goalie, Joonas Korpisalo.
Head coach Jim Montogmery decided to let Brandon Bussi and and Michael DiPietro split time in net to give each an opportunity to fight for the regular season backup spot with Jeremy Swayman not being signed. Tonight, Korpisalo will have his first shot to show fans what he is capable of and there certainly a good amount of pressure on him.
Another big name to look out for will be newcomer and recent PTO signing Tyler Johnson. From all reports, he has been impressing the team a lot during their scrimmages and training camp sessions, but now he has the opportunity to earn a contract in a live game setting.
The last player for fans to look out for is budding prospect Fabian Lysell. He is looking to try and bounce back in his second pre-season appearance as he struggled to find his game against the Rangers. He gave up two massive turnovers in one shift in the 3rd period that led to the game-winning goal. The B's and fans are hoping the first game was able to shake off some of that rust from the offseason and can perform like he has been showing down with the Providence Bruins of the AHL.
Don't miss tonight's game when the Bruins host the Capitals at TD Garden at 7:00PM E.T.
Let's go Bruins!
