NHL has just announced that Boston Bruins Star defenceman Charlie McAvoy is one of the 6 players selected to Team USA to compete in the 4 Nations Face-Off in February.
It is unknown yet if he will be playing, but if he does he will be away from the team for a couple weeks to represent his country in the best-on-best tournament.
Many fans love the idea of the 4 Nations Face-Off, but others are worried that top players can get hurt and miss key games either before or during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Charlie McAvoy is one of the first six players named to Team USA for the 4 Nations Face-Off.
Joining him on Team USA: Quinn Hughes, Matthew Tkachuk, Auston Matthews, Adam Fox, Jack Eichel.
Earlier it was also announced that Captain Brad Marchand will be playing for Team Canada. It will be interesting to watch two teammates and good friends go head-to-head against one another.
