NHL Commissioner comments on re-instated Joel Quenneville and Stan Bowman.

Per NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, Joel Quenneville and Stan Bowman met with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman asking for re-instatement into the league

Two-weeks ago, Bowman and Quenneville reached out asking for a meeting to discuss their status with the NHL. Bettman at the time had to think it over more deeply but ultimately still holds the same view that they are still not eligible.

"They're both not eligible. They both reached out, seeking an opportunity to come back. It's something I have to consider," Gary Bettman said.

Per Elliotte Friedman, with the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Finals, Bettman decided to meet with the pair to discuss the matter in further detail at the Board of Governors meeting yesterday.

Bettman on Quenneville and Bowman: «Still ineligible, requested reinstatement. Something I have to look at, continue to evaluate the things they've done over the last couple years to make sure they understand what happened, why it was inappropriate, what the consequences were.»

Bettman seems to have a firm foot when it comes to consequences of what too place in the Kyle Beach case, and as he should. The matter of having the two back in the league has been an extremely contentious topic. Many fans believe they should be allowed to manage and coach again, and others say they should be banned for life.
