According to highly credible NHL Insider Pierre Lebrun, the Boston Bruins could be front runners to land Carolina Hurricanes Centre, and 40-goal scorer Martin Necas
LeBrun didn't state the exact team he had at the top of the list, but he did reveal that the team now has a 1st round pick.
With the Bruins acquiring the 25th pick in this years NHL Draft, it hints that they could now be in the hunt for the 25-year-old.
The upside to the Bruins getting a 1st is they are now ACTUALLY in a position to go after an impact forward (e.g. Ehlers, Necas). That was going to be hard to pull off without a 1st. Now they can do the standard package of 1st + prospect + player. #NHLBruins
After the season ended for the Hurricanes, Necas revealed he put in a trade request, which was confirmed by his father. Rumors started flying right away that the Bruins were a team that he is very interested to play for.
Would Necas be a great pick up for the Boston Bruins?
