The Bruins have been struggling as of lately going 2-5 at home in their last 7 games. They were able to squeeze out a win against the red hot Dallas Stars Monday afternoon but there is no doubt changes are needed.

Sweeney decided Tuesday morning to call back up 6'5 defenseman Mason Lohrei. The 23 year-old blueliner has played 27 games with the team this season putting up 3 goals and 3 assists with a -4 +/- rating. The former Bruins 2020 draft pick has had an impressive year in Providence with 1 goal, 12 assists and a +13 +/- rating across 17 games.

The Bruins announce that they have assigned Oskar Steen to Providence; placed Matt Poitras on long-term injured reserve and recalled Mason Lohrei from Providence.

The team also announced this morning that Oskar Steen has cleared waivers making his way down to Providence. Additionally, young star Matthew Poitras has been officially put on long-term injured reserve after having season ending shoulder surgery.

It will be interesting to see how the Bruins D-core looks Wednesday night against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers.
