Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery and his staff couldn't have been happier today for a few reasons. Firstly, his team had snapped themselves out of their four-game losing streak with a 4-3 shootout win at home against the Dallas Stars.
More importantly, the decision to insert Bruins rookie Justin Brazeau couldn't have gone better with the rookie scoring his first goal of his NHL career to tie the game at 2-2.
Brazeau, with his imposing 6'5» 245lbs frame known for his physical play was sitting in the slot to accept a great pass from Jesper Boqvist to put it past Stars goalie Jake Oettinger.
The 26-year-old has been in Providence has put together a solid season thus far. He has player 49 games, with 18 goals and 19 assists for 39 points. He has 26 PIMS.
I would expect him to remain with the Bruins for the foreseeable future as the team is preparing to go on a four-game road trip this week.
