The Boston Bruins are searching for a new defenseman this offseason, with two of their defensemen hitting the free agency market it could mean losing some strength as a team however, as the draft lottery approaches.
The Bruins are looking forward to the next season and with that being said, they need to add prospects that will compliment the players they already have on their blue line roster which would include side ofHampus Lindholm, Mason Lohrei, and Parker Wotherspoon.
The San Jose Sharks have expressed that they are willing to move Mario Ferraro for the appropriate return. Ferraro gained popularity last season while playing with the Sharks during several regular season games. Ferraro also hasa magnificent 195 blocks and 124 hits on the ice so far. He has also helped the Sharks offensively and can throw other players off, which makes him a valuable asset for the Bruins.
If the Bruins acquire Ferraro in a trade, he could help them with their penalty shots and help be a mentor/leader for younger players on the team. There is incredible potential for him to grow further on a team like Boston and develop his ice skills with a more experienced team, one that unlike the Sharks knows what it's like to be in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The lefthanded defenseman would gain valuable knowledge and motivation to pursue becoming greater for the playoffs.
We will have to wait and see what happens during the NHL Draft but until then, Boston will have the Sharks and Ferraro on their radar.
