After Hanifin has reportedly rejected a costly deal from the Flames, it is the Bruins' turn to strike a hometown discount deal with him for a new contract.
Although it might be tough to compete with the $7.5 million annual contract presented by Calgary, there is reason to believe that Boston will do what they can to convince Hanifin to join the forces of the Bruins.
The Boston Bruins are well known for making big deals before the trade deadline, and the potential Noah Hanifin deal is no outlier. With Hanifin's limited 'no trade clause', he is able to block a trade to 8 teams. Fans are kept wondering whether or not he will use this power to sign with the Bruins, but the writing on the wall looks like it may lead to an accepted offer.
