Bruins make Swayman an embarrassing offer

The NHL season is rapidly approaching as training camp is set to begin shortly and the Bruins have yet to re-sign goaltender Jeremy Swayman.
According to insider Elliotte Friedman, the Bruins did make an offer to Swayman that was on a 8 year term but paid around $6 million per year which is $ 3 million less than he is looking for.
«I do believe at some point, there was the eight-year deal on the table, but it was in the sixes,» Friedman said of Boston's reported offer. «So, I don't think at any point here, anyone's ever been close.»
As camp begins tomorrow and the two parties have yet to agree on a contract, fans are beginning to worry that Swayman leaving Boston is starting to become a reality.
If the Bruins want to keep Swayman, they will need to make some trades to get more cap space since they currently sit at $8.6 million.
